Changes to the Car Accident Treatment System > May Reduce Consumer Care Options

The Issue

Premised on the need to fight fraud, Ontario Regulation 194/11 is being introduced effective July 1, 2011.
The Effect

Car insurers can ask for backgfound information and identity confirmation for all service providers who seek to provide treatment to people involved in car accidents.

Car insurers can also request copies (or inspect originals) of all supporting documentation relating to treatment plans which are submitted on behalf of people hurt in car accidents.

Payment for treatment is not required until all of this information is provided.… Continue Reading

Raising Money for Kids so They Can Go to School

2011 FCCP Gala – Funding 60 Student Scholarships, Providing Low Cost Housing and More

Greg Chang attneded last weekend’s 2011 FCCP Gala (Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals), to celebrate the ongoing achievements of this important organization.

The FCCP has provided low cost housing to the community, in the form of 103 units at Coral Place, located in Mississauga.

The FCCP also provides 60 annual student scholarships, to young adults in Canada, and continues to grow their important Education Foundation to fund even more students in the furture.

5th Annual Toronto Mock Trial Tournament

The OJEN (Ontario Justice Education Network) is holding its 5th Annual Toronto Mock Trial Tournament at Old City Hall, Toronto, on May 26, 2011.

As a non-competitive event, this program provides an excellent opportunity for high school students in the Toronto district who would not normally participate in competitive mock trials to get involved.  The emphasis is on experiential, rather than substantive content, and there will be no winners or ‘final’ round.
